Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree (B Tech, B Eng, or BSc) in Civil Engineering.
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in the engineering field.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will apply your engineering expertise to manage and implement capital and operational projects. Your duties will include:
- Planning, designing, and executing Civil Engineering projects, specifically within Reticulation.
- Investigating “as-built” drawings to assist with short-term and long-term planning.
- Collaborating with the Master Planning unit to align with city development requirements.
- Ensuring all projects comply with City design standards and legislative requirements.
- Preparing and managing bid documents and technical documentation for Supply Chain Management (SCM) committees.
- Leading project management tasks, including stakeholder meetings and site commencement.
- Managing site risks and making critical engineering decisions during construction.
- Overseeing quality management plans and ensuring all work meets technical specifications.
- Handling the financial administration and budgeting for assigned projects.
- Maintaining clear communication and ensuring all work follows corporate and statutory directives.
