Job Opportunity: Senior Specialist: Systems (Enterprise Solutions Consultant)
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is the national tax authority responsible for administering the South African tax system and customs services. We are looking for two experienced Enterprise Solutions Consultants to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis.
Job Purpose
In this role, you will champion future-ready technology solutions by providing analytical insights and strategic design guidance. You will help shape and align new and existing systems with modern best practices, governance standards, and transformation goals. Your goal is to ensure all technology solutions are fit-for-purpose and built to support long-term growth across the enterprise.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Option 1: A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Taxation, Commerce, Business, or ICT/IT, plus 8–10 years of experience in a business technology or operations environment (including 3–4 years at a specialist level).
- Option 2: A Senior Certificate (NQF 4) plus 15 years of experience in a Business Systems or Operational environment.
- Additional Requirement: Relevant IT Certification(s).
Key Responsibilities
Process and System Management
- Apply data validation processes to improve service delivery and meet operational targets.
- Design custom data reports to provide the organization with specific, actionable information.
- Analyze and recommend improvements for specialist systems and operational procedures.
- Identify interconnected problems and develop best-practice solutions to address them.
- Optimize internal processes and systems to ensure high-quality implementation and efficiency.
Governance and Finance
- Develop and align governance policies to manage risk and ensure compliance.
- Monitor financial controls and manage costs within your area of specialization.
People and Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide expert advice and leadership to internal and external stakeholders.
- Share knowledge and mentor others to foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Build a service delivery culture that encourages excellence and supports stakeholder needs.
