Shop Assistant / Cashier – La Lucia

With over 840 stores, including brands like Clicks, GNC, and The Body Shop, we are committed to helping our customers “feel good and pay less.” We are currently looking for a motivated Shop Assistant / Cashier to join our team at the La Lucia branch.

Role Purpose:

Your goal is to provide excellent customer service by handling transactions accurately, assisting shoppers, and ensuring the store is well-merchandised and clean.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle point-of-sale (POS) activities, including scanning items and processing payments accurately.
• Ensure safe and responsible cash handling at all times.
• Encourage customers to join the Clicks Clubcard program to help meet store targets.
• Inform customers about current promotions and deals to improve their shopping experience.
• Provide friendly and professional service as a brand ambassador.
• Assist with merchandising, restocking shelves, and general housekeeping to keep the store looking its best.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and events to provide accurate information to customers.

Requirements

Education:

• Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
• Preference will be given to candidates with at least 50% in Math and English at the Grade 12 level.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role is preferred but not required.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Basic math and numeracy skills.
• Understanding of retail, stock management, and merchandising.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• The ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure.
