Job Title: Shop Assistant / Cashier

About the Role
We are looking for a friendly and motivated Shop Assistant / Cashier to join our team. Your main goal will be to provide excellent customer service, handle sales transactions accurately, and ensure the store is well-merchandised and clean. As the face of our brand, you will help customers have a positive shopping experience every time they visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all point-of-sale activities, including scanning items and processing payments accurately.
- Ensure cash is handled safely and securely at all times.
- Promote the Clicks Clubcard program and help new members sign up to meet store targets.
- Tell customers about current promotions and special deals to help them “feel good and pay less.”
- Provide professional and friendly service as a brand ambassador.
- Keep the store tidy and ensure shelves are stocked according to visual standards.
- Stay up-to-date with information about our products and upcoming events to assist customers.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Essential: A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role.
- Desirable: At least 50% in Mathematics and English at the Grade 12 level.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic math and numeracy skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Good communication and people skills.
- The ability to solve problems and organize your work.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.
- The ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
