Shop Assistant / Cashier – Pongola

Role Purpose
We are looking for a friendly and efficient Shop Assistant / Cashier to join our team in Pongola. Your main goal will be to provide excellent customer service, handle sales at the checkout, and keep the store looking its best through organized merchandising.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Act as a brand ambassador by greeting customers and providing professional, helpful service.
- Point of Sale: Scan items accurately, process payments safely, and handle cash with care.
- Loyalty Program: Explain the benefits of the Clicks Clubcard and help new members sign up to meet store targets.
- Sales Support: Share information about current promotions and deals to help customers save money.
- Store Maintenance: Keep shelves stocked, tidy, and organized according to company standards.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on products and events to answer customer questions correctly.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate is essential. (Ideally with at least 50% in Math and English).
- Skills: Good communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to work well with numbers.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role is an advantage but not required.
- Personal Attributes: A positive attitude, the ability to follow procedures, and a focus on delivering great results for our customers.
