Shop Assistant Cashier – Clicks Acornhoek

Role Overview
Clicks Group is looking for a dedicated Shop Assistant Cashier to join our team in Acornhoek. The primary goal of this role is to provide excellent customer service through efficient point-of-sale (POS) operations, helpful merchandising, and maintaining a positive shopping environment for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
As a Shop Assistant Cashier, your daily tasks will include:
- Efficient Checkout Service: Scanning merchandise quickly and accurately, collecting payments, and ensuring the safe handling of cash.
- Customer Engagement: Acting as a brand ambassador by offering friendly and professional service. You will assist customers with inquiries and provide information on products and promotions.
- Clubcard Promotion: Encouraging customers to join the Clicks Clubcard program and helping them redeem their rewards to ensure they “feel good and pay less.”
- Store Maintenance: Assisting with merchandising and general housekeeping to ensure the store is always neat, fully stocked, and meets visual standards.
- Product Knowledge: Keeping up to date with new products, ranges, and store events to provide the best advice to shoppers.
Requirements and Skills
Minimum Education:
- Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least 50% in Mathematics and English at the Grade 12 level.
Essential Skills:
- Basic numerical and math skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to solve problems and organize daily tasks.
- A customer-focused mindset.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing environment is an advantage.
