Role Overview
We are looking for a Shop Assistant / Cashier to join our team at Elridge Square in Boksburg. Your main goal will be to provide excellent service to our customers. This involves handling point-of-sale (POS) transactions, helping with store merchandising, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer transactions at the till quickly and accurately.
- Process payments and handle cash securely.
- Promote the Clicks ClubCard program and help customers sign up for rewards.
- Inform customers about current promotions and special deals.
- Keep the store tidy and ensure shelves are correctly stocked and organized.
- Act as a brand ambassador by offering friendly and professional assistance to all shoppers.
- Stay updated on product information and store events to provide accurate advice to customers.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Essential: Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role.
- Desirable: At least 50% in English and Mathematics at the Matric level.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Basic math and numeracy skills.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Ability to solve problems and organize your work efficiently.
- Basic computer literacy.
- An understanding of retail, stock management, and merchandising.
Personal Competencies
- A friendly and professional attitude when working with customers and colleagues.
- The ability to follow instructions and store procedures accurately.
