Job Opportunity: Shop Assistant / Cashier – Clicks Groblersdal

Role Purpose
As a Shop Assistant and Cashier, your goal is to provide excellent service to every customer. You will handle point-of-sale (POS) transactions, assist with merchandising, and ensure the store is well-maintained to create a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer transactions at the till quickly and accurately.
- Scan merchandise and collect payments securely.
- Promote the Clicks ClubCard program and sign up new members.
- Inform customers about current promotions and special deals.
- Act as a brand ambassador by offering friendly and professional service.
- Ensure shelves are stocked, organized, and meet visual standards.
- Keep the store clean and tidy at all times.
- Stay updated on product information and store events to assist customers effectively.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Essential: Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Desirable: A minimum of 50% in Math and English at the Grade 12 level.
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic math and numeracy skills.
- Understanding of retail, merchandising, and stock management.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to plan and organize tasks effectively.
