Role Overview
We are looking for a Shop Assistant Cashier to join our Park Meadows team. The primary goal of this role is to deliver excellent customer service, manage point-of-sale (POS) activities efficiently, and ensure the store is well-merchandised to provide a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Scan merchandise and process payments securely while managing cash handling.
- Promote the Clicks Clubcard program and enroll new members to meet store targets.
- Inform customers about current promotions and special offers to help them “feel good and pay less.”
- Provide friendly, professional, and visible service as a brand ambassador.
- Maintain store appearance through merchandising and general housekeeping duties.
- Keep up to date with product knowledge, store events, and promotions.
Requirements
Education:
- Grade 12 / Matric (Essential).
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least 50% in Mathematics and English at the Grade 12 level.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG environment is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Basic mathematical calculations and numeracy skills.
- Understanding of retail principles, merchandising, and stock management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and basic computer literacy.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure.
