Role Purpose
We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Northmead Square team. As a Shop Assistant and Cashier, your goal is to provide excellent customer service, manage point-of-sale (POS) activities efficiently, and ensure the store is well-merchandised for a great shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Scan merchandise and process payments securely.
- Promote the Clicks ClubCard program and help customers sign up.
- Inform customers about current promotions and special offers.
- Provide friendly and professional service as a brand ambassador.
- Assist with merchandising, stock replenishment, and general store housekeeping.
- Stay updated on product knowledge and store events to assist customers.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Essential: Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Desirable: At least 50% in Mathematics and English at the Grade 12 level.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic math and numeracy skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Ability to solve problems and organize tasks.
- An understanding of retail, stock management, and merchandising principles.
