Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A formal Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
- Current professional registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- Proof of payment for SACSSP registration for the 2025-2026 period.
- A valid driver’s license (Recommended).
- Previous experience in child and youth care (Recommended).
Experience Levels
The position is graded based on your years of professional experience after registering with the SACSSP:
- Grade 1: No previous experience required.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
- Grade 4: A minimum of 30 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Social Worker for the WCED, you will support learners by addressing social challenges that impact their education. You will work within the community to provide essential social services and ensure a safe, supportive environment for students.
