Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and be registered as a Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP). Experience levels are categorized into the following grades:
- Grade 1: No experience required after registration.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of experience after registration.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of experience after registration.
- Grade 4: Minimum of 30 years of experience after registration.
- Additional Requirement: A valid Code B (or higher) driving license is essential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Social Worker, your primary role will involve:
- Providing social work services including case work, group work, and community development.
- Supporting and protecting vulnerable individuals and families.
- Supervising and supporting Social Auxiliary Workers.
- Managing administrative tasks and keeping accurate records.
- Staying updated with the latest developments in social work and welfare.
