Job Purpose
As an SAP Basis Specialist, you will handle complex requirement analysis, system configuration, and technical support for various SAP modules. Your role is to integrate SAP technology effectively into the business environment to ensure high-quality results. You will also manage the installation, design, and implementation of SAP Basis and Core Architecture platforms to maintain a stable and efficient production environment.
Requirements
Applicants can qualify through one of the following paths:
- Option 1: A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Information Technology, plus 5 to 7 years of experience in an SAP Basis environment (including 2 to 3 years at a technically skilled level).
- Option 2: A Senior Certificate (NQF 4) plus relevant IT certifications, and 5 to 7 years of experience in an SAP Basis environment (including 2 to 3 years at a technically skilled level).
- Option 3: A Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 10 years of experience in SAP Basis (including 2 to 3 years at a technically skilled level).
Additional Skills and Experience
- Proven experience with key integration points between different SAP modules.
- Relevant SAP Basis training or professional certification.
- Strong experience in SAP analysis and configuration.
Key Responsibilities
Process Management
- Perform complex tasks during the implementation and support of SAP modules to improve business performance.
- Analyze business requirements and perform system enhancements and testing for Finance, HR, Procurement, and Revenue Management modules.
- Provide technical expertise and advice on SAP products and cloud solutions.
- Identify potential risks and recommend improvements to operational processes.
- Resolve technical incidents (Severity 2 and 3) and assist with business escalations.
- Test new software to ensure it is ready for the production environment.
Governance and People
- Follow all governance, compliance, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with team members and share knowledge to achieve group goals.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Client Service
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Focus on continuous improvement to reduce service turnaround times.
