Job Vacancy: State Accountant (Asset and Inventory Management)

Job Overview

  • Position: State Accountant: Asset and Inventory Management
  • Location: Sekhukhune District – Lebowakgomo, Limpopo
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Registering all departmental assets accurately.
  • Maintaining and updating the official Asset Register.
  • Ensuring inventory lists are kept up to date.
  • Managing the disposal process for obsolete or redundant assets.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate qualification at NQF level 6 or equivalent, recognized by SAQA.
  • A qualification in Financial Management is highly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in asset management or a related financial field.
  • A valid driver’s license (this requirement may be waived for individuals with disabilities).

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of the PFMA and legislative frameworks governing the Public Service.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting procedures and computer literacy.
  • Excellent written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
