Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Accounting or Financial Management (NQF Level 6).
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Expenditure or Financial Management.
Key Competencies and Skills
- Practical knowledge of government expenditure procedures, including the PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as Logis and BAS.
- Strong computer literacy and a deep understanding of accounting procedures.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a professional team.
- Previous experience in expenditure administration and management is highly advantageous.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Managing and administering the processing of all departmental payments.
- Ensuring the safe keeping of payment vouchers and maintaining strict internal controls.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding goods and services.
- Providing leadership and management to junior staff members.
- Identifying, establishing, and maintaining expenditure risk factors to ensure financial safety.
