Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Stock Control Assistant for our TimberCity branch in Montague Gardens, Western Cape. This is a full-time position within our Procurement and Store-keeping department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring the integrity of our stock management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and check daily stock reports.
- Analyze the costs associated with stock-outs.
- Manage and process returns to suppliers.
- Maintain up-to-date cycle counts.
- Investigate and validate any stock variances.
- Clear negative stock balances and maintain accurate bin locations.
- Identify and investigate high-risk or slow-moving stock.
- Participate in and supervise formal stock takes.
- Generate and review reports for stock with no demand.
- Ensure all existing stock is correctly binned and organized.
- Monitor overall stock performance and provide monthly variance data to management.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- At least 3 years of experience in stock control.
- Alternatively: A National Certificate in Retailing or Retail Operations Management (NQF 5).
- If you do not have a certificate, you must demonstrate proficiency in:
- Loss control measures and stock counting.
- Stock replenishment and warehouse management.
- Picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
- Understanding the factors that affect the financial performance of a retail unit.
