About the Role

The Stores Assistant will support the logistics team in managing stock flow, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a clean and safe storage environment. The role involves handling stock issuance, receiving, and assisting with bulk deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue stock from shelves using VA2 and pack stock according to FIFO rules (VA7).
  • Record all issued transactions on VA11 and update it during receipts.
  • Unload bulk stock from trucks, sweep, and keep stores, corridors, and surrounding areas clean.
  • Participate in stock‑taking activities and compile reports on issued stock and outstanding requisitions.
  • Assist with collecting and delivering bulk stock from government printing works or other locations.
  • Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • AET Level 4 (Standard 7 or Grade 9 report) or Grade 12.
  • Minimum of six months’ relevant experience in stores.
  • Good organisational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence and professional driving permits (PDP) are an advantage.
  • Computer skills are an added advantage.
