Superintendent: Networks (Worcester & Rawsonville)
Breede Valley Municipality is looking for a qualified and experienced Superintendent to join our team in Worcester. This is a permanent position focused on managing and maintaining our water and sewerage infrastructure.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will manage the daily operations of the depot. You will oversee water and sewerage network installations and maintenance to ensure all work meets safety standards, quality requirements, and budget limits.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule projects for water and sewerage network repairs and installations.
- Manage and supervise staff performance, productivity, and discipline.
- Monitor service delivery and implement short-term operational plans.
- Manage the capital and operating budget for the department.
- Maintain accurate records and administrative data for all network operations.
- Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Qualified Trade Tested Artisan (Plumbing).
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in water and sewerage networks.
- A valid Code C1 driver’s license and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills in at least two official languages of the Western Cape.
- Excellent leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
