Overview

The Western Cape Department of Social Development is committed to providing a comprehensive network of social services to empower the poor, the vulnerable, and those with special needs. We are seeking a competent and motivated individual to join our team and provide essential clerical support within our Supply Chain Management (SCM) unit.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for rendering efficient clerical services to support the department’s supply chain management operations, specifically focusing on asset management and procurement support.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Grade 12 certificate (Senior Certificate or equivalent).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support for asset management tasks.
  • Assist with demand and acquisition clerical duties.
  • Support the department with budget-related administrative services.
  • Capture data accurately and maintain departmental statistics.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Professional Knowledge: A solid understanding of supply chain practices, data entry procedures, and the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
  • Computer Literacy: Proven ability to operate computers and use relevant software effectively.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to work well within a team and maintain positive professional relationships.
  • Organization: Strong planning and organizational skills with a flexible approach to work.
