Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 Certificate (NQF Level 4 or 5) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).
  • A solid understanding of customer care and the Batho Pele Principles.
  • Ability to work shift hours as required.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will handle the following duties:

  • Operate the switchboard and ensure the system is functioning correctly at all times.
  • Manage all incoming and outgoing calls professionally.
  • Direct calls to the appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Answer general inquiries and maintain accurate records of trunk calls.
  • Take and deliver messages promptly and efficiently.
  • Issue private telephone accounts to relevant staff members.
  • Monitor and report any misuse of the telephone system.
