Systems Analyst: Applications Development and Maintenance

About the Role

The Limpopo Office of the Premier is looking for a dedicated Systems Analyst to join our team. Our mission is to provide innovative leadership and management to ensure excellent service delivery across the province. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and support of our IT application systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and define requirements for new and existing applications.
  • Develop and maintain all IT application systems within the department.
  • Lead and manage IT system development projects.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to system users.

Requirements

  • A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and a recognized NQF Level 6 qualification (Diploma or Degree) in Information Technology or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role within an IT Application Systems environment.
  • A valid driver’s license (except for applicants with disabilities).
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL or COBIT in IT Governance will be considered an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Management: Experience in people management, project planning, and financial management.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of system architecture, database management, and operational level agreements.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and lead groups.
  • Policy: Knowledge of the legislative frameworks and rules governing the Public Service.
