About the National School of Government (NSG)
The National School of Government (NSG) is responsible for ensuring that public servants follow established laws and regulations. The institution helps officials develop the skills needed to solve routine and complex problems through innovation and proper discretion in the workplace.
Job Requirements
- Education: A recognized National Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification (NQF level 6) in Office Administration, Business or Public Administration, Project Management, or Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Experience: One to two years of relevant administrative experience. Experience within a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) environment is preferred.
Key Knowledge Areas
The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of:
- Legislation: Public sector laws and frameworks, including the Public Service Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and Batho Pele Principles.
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Ability to organize and host virtual meetings using Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Familiarity with AI tools like Microsoft Co-pilot is an advantage.
- Administration: Meeting management (scheduling, agenda setting, and minute-taking), document management, and developing action plans.
- Event Coordination: Managing logistics, including venues, accommodation, catering, and transportation.
Skills and Personal Attributes

- Organization: Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and manage multiple projects with high attention to detail.
