About the Role
Langeberg Municipality is looking for a dedicated and professional Traffic Officer to join our team. Following the guidelines set by the Constitution of 1996, our municipality is responsible for managing local government affairs, including administration, budgeting, and community planning. As a Traffic Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring public safety and the smooth flow of traffic within our community.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) and a formal Traffic Diploma.
- Licensing: A valid Code B driving licence. Candidates qualified as an Examiner of Vehicles or Examiner of Driver’s Licences (Grade A) will have an advantage.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in traffic law enforcement.
- Health and Conduct: A clean criminal record and proven good health to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Flexibility: Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties will include:
- Enforcing traffic laws using advanced technology.
- Regulating and managing traffic flow.
- Assisting with the administration and processing of traffic infringements.
- Adjudicating offences and handling inquiries from the public.
- Executing court duties and providing general operational support to the Traffic Department.
- Conducting road safety training and educational programs at local schools.
