Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a 1-Ton Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transport of goods and providing excellent service to our clients. Your daily tasks will include:

• Distributing and collecting client cargo efficiently.
• Assisting with the manual loading and unloading of goods.
• Accurately completing daily delivery and collection paperwork.
• Conducting daily pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
• Reporting any vehicle faults or maintenance needs immediately.
• Ensuring all cargo is handled with care to prevent damage.
• Maintaining constant communication with the depot throughout the day.
• Following authorized routes and delivery schedules strictly.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of Grade 12 (Matric).
• 1-2 years of professional driving experience is preferred.
• A valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of the Durban area and surroundings.
• The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• The ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• A professional, presentable appearance and a high level of integrity.
• Reliable transport to and from work.
• Willingness to work overtime when required by client needs.
