About the Internship
The University of the Free State (UFS) offers this internship to unemployed graduates with a Diploma (CUT) in Office Administration who have no prior work experience. The programme provides practical workplace exposure across various university departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to departments.
- Perform office tasks following university policies and service standards.
- Assist with document management, filing, record keeping, and data entry.
- Support meeting coordination: scheduling, documentation, minute‑taking, and follow‑up.
- Manage correspondence: drafting, formatting, and distributing communications.
- Use MS Office and institutional systems effectively.
- Respond to routine enquiries and direct requests to the appropriate parties.
- Help with basic reporting and maintenance of administrative records.
- Apply organisational, time‑management, and professional communication skills.
- Follow confidentiality and workplace ethics policies.
- Participate in learning activities, coaching, and monitoring as required by SETA.
Inherent Requirements
- Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Office Administration from a CUT (proof required).
- Not studying full‑time.
- South African citizen or permanent resident.
- Currently unemployed (affidavit required).
- Never participated in a learnership or internship before.
- No previous formal work experience.
- Willing to sign a learnership/internship agreement with UFS.
- Available for the full 12‑month period.
