Job Opportunity: Water Cart Operator (Task Grade 7)
Nyandeni Local Municipality is looking for a dedicated and skilled Water Cart Operator to join our team in the Eastern Cape. This is a full-time position based in Libode, within the OR Tambo District Municipality.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating water trucks to transport and distribute water for various municipal activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed and equipment is well-maintained.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 10 certificate (First School Leaving Certificate).
- A valid Competency Certificate.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
- A valid Code C1 Driving License.
- A Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organize daily tasks, including managing vehicles, materials, and personnel.
- Perform daily inspections of safety devices, controls, and lubricant levels on the water truck.
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to the supervisor immediately.
- Operate water trucks safely to transport and distribute water for municipal projects.
- Deliver water to remote work sites on time while following all safety rules.
- Assist with dust control, road maintenance, and cleaning equipment at designated sites.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe for the road.
