About the Programme
Transnet is looking for motivated students and recent graduates to join our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme. This 18-month initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academic study and the professional workplace. Participants will gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from industry experts, and develop essential skills within the logistics and freight industry.
Key Responsibilities
As a trainee, you will support various departments through the following activities:
- Task Execution: Assist with specific projects and perform daily operational tasks under professional supervision.
- Administrative Support: Help with documentation, record-keeping, and general office reporting.
- Learning & Development: Attend training workshops and shadow experienced staff to learn industry best practices.
- Communication: Interact with internal teams and external customers to help resolve queries and provide project updates.
- Compliance & Safety: Follow all company policies and safety regulations to maintain a professional and ethical work environment.
- Research & Analysis: Help collect data and prepare basic reports or presentations using MS Office tools.
Requirements
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Matric certificate or an N6 qualification in Transport & Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
- Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.
- Documentation: You must be able to provide a certified ID copy, academic records, and a TVET college experiential learning letter.
- Other: Must not have a bursary obligation with another company. Preference will be given to People with Disabilities (PWD).
