General Cleaner: Household Services Section
The Parliament of the Republic of South Africa is the country’s national legislature. It is responsible for making laws and overseeing the government. We are currently looking for a dedicated General Cleaner to join our Household Services Section in Cape Town.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will provide high-quality cleaning services across the Parliament precinct. You will be responsible for ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, and maintained according to professional standards.
Job Details

Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will include:
- Cleaning individual offices and workspaces.
- Maintaining public spaces and common areas.
- Ensuring all work complies with Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A minimum of Grade 10. (Grade 11 or an NQF Level 3 qualification is an advantage).
- At least 2 years of relevant cleaning experience.
Skills and Competencies
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
- The ability to read, write, and follow work schedules and instructions.
- The flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and work different shifts.
- A good understanding of office cleaning procedures and health and safety standards.
- Experience using industrial cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and carpet cleaners.
