Assistant Store Manager: Miladys Tokai

The Mr Price Group (MRPG) is a leading fashion retailer in South Africa, specializing in apparel, homeware, and sportswear. We are currently looking for a vibrant, self-disciplined Assistant Store Manager to join our Miladys team in Tokai, Western Cape. In this role, you will manage daily operations to ensure the store meets its targets and maintains high customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Management

  • Oversee the accurate receiving and unpacking of stock to keep the sales floor replenished.
  • Monitor stock levels through regular counts and implement action plans to reduce stock loss.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stockroom.
  • Authorize stock write-offs, breakages, and product returns.

Sales and Profitability

  • Analyze sales reports to help create plans that increase performance and manage store costs.
  • Stay updated on product performance and provide feedback to the support center to improve sales.
  • Identify local marketing opportunities and drive new customer memberships to increase brand awareness.

Risk and Compliance

  • Conduct regular store audits, admin checks, and security reviews.
  • Ensure the store meets all health and safety standards and follows company policies.

Customer Experience

  • Maintain excellent visual merchandising and store housekeeping standards.
  • Manage promotions, markdowns, and price changes effectively.
  • Use customer feedback to consistently improve the shopping experience.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve store goals and KPIs.
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching to help staff grow within the company.
  • Manage staff recruitment and performance evaluations according to company policy.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • 3 years of experience in a retail management or assistant management position.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A solid understanding of retail trends and customer service.
